Nefrosave Tablets are a combination of two antioxidant compounds Taurine (500 mg) and Acetylcysteine/NAC (150 mg)  used as supportive therapy for kidney health. Acetylcysteine is a precursor of glutathione, the body’s master antioxidant, which helps neutralise the free radicals that damage kidney tissue, while Taurine is an amino acid with its own antioxidant and anti-inflammatory action that helps protect renal cells. Doctors commonly prescribe Nefrosave as an add-on to standard treatment in chronic kidney disease (CKD), diabetic or hypertensive nephropathy, and to help reduce the risk of contrast-induced kidney injury in patients undergoing imaging procedures that use contrast dye.

  • Taurine – 500 mg (amino acid with antioxidant and anti-inflammatory action on renal tissue)
  • Acetylcysteine (N-acetyl cysteine / NAC)150 mg (glutathione precursor protects kidneys from oxidative damage)
  • Supports overall kidney function as part of a doctor-guided CKD management plan
  • Helps protect kidney cells from oxidative stress and free-radical damage
  • May help reduce the risk of contrast-induced acute kidney injury in high-risk patients
  • Used as adjunct support in diabetic and hypertensive nephropathy
  • May help ease associated symptoms such as fatigue, mild nausea or abdominal discomfort linked to reduced kidney function
  • Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor typically once or twice daily.
  • Swallow the tablet whole with water; do not crush or chew it.
  • Best taken with or after food to minimise stomach upset.
  • Continue for the full duration advised by your nephrologist/physician, even if you feel well.
  • As an add-on in diagnosed chronic kidney disease (CKD) management
  • In diabetic nephropathy or hypertensive nephropathy, alongside primary treatment
  • Before/after contrast-dye imaging procedures in patients at risk of contrast-induced kidney injury, only if your doctor prescribes it
  • Adults with a confirmed kidney condition and a doctor’s prescription
  • Patients advised by a nephrologist to take antioxidant support alongside standard CKD treatment
  • Anyone allergic to taurine, acetylcysteine, or other tablet ingredients
  • People with a history of severe asthma attacks (acetylcysteine may occasionally trigger bronchospasm)
  • Patients with severe kidney impairment, unless specifically directed and monitored by a doctor
  • Pregnant or breastfeeding women, without medical consultation
  • Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and out of children’s reach.
  • Avoid alcohol while on this medicine and use caution while driving if you feel dizzy or drowsy.
  • Tell your doctor about all other medicines, supplements and existing conditions (especially asthma or liver disease) before starting.
  • Keep up routine blood tests (kidney function tests) as advised by your doctor to track progress.
