Nexpro 40mg Tablet contains Esomeprazole Magnesium Trihydrate, equivalent to 40 mg Esomeprazole, a proton pump inhibitor (PPI). It works by blocking the acid pump in the stomach lining, which reduces the amount of acid produced. This makes Nexpro effective for gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GERD), acidity, heartburn, peptic ulcers, and Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, and it is also used to prevent stomach ulcers caused by long-term NSAID painkiller use. By lowering acid levels, Nexpro relieves burning discomfort and gives irritated stomach or oesophageal lining time to heal.
